Residency & Age
Must be a resident of Iowa
All performers must be 18 years of age or older
Amateur Status
Must not be represented by a talent agent or agency
Availability & Preparation
Must be available for tech rehearsal and performance the afternoon and evening of Friday, April 3, 2026
Must provide own accompanist or recorded music if required for the act
Conduct & Safety
Any participant found in possession of illegal substances or weapons during any part of this event will be immediately disqualified
Conflicts of Interest
Must not be a current member of Kennedy Choral League
Must not be a current student or staff member at Kennedy High School
Must not be a spouse, sibling, or parent of a current Kennedy Choral League student.
Submitted auditions should be no longer than three minutes in length
Submitting groups should not be larger than 10 people
Content should be appropriate for a general audience. This event represents a public school and should reflect decency standards of a public school system.
We welcome everything from monologues to stand-up comedy, skits, choreography, character work, singing, instrumentalists, jugglers, etc…
Lip syncing, fire, animals, and weapons are not permitted
10-15 performances will be accepted for the live show
Contests accepted for the live show must perform in the same genre in which they auditioned (If you sing your audition, you must sing in the live show.)
Live show performances are limited to 5 minutes
Performances will be judged by a panel of three judges (60%) and the live, in-person audience (40%)
Prizes will be awarded for First Place ($1,000), Second Place ($500), and Third Place ($250)
The winner of this year’s event will be invited to be a featured performer in the 2027 live event
Winners of a cash prize in this year’s event are not eligible to compete in the event for two years
Auditions must be submitted using this form and must be received by March 20th, 2026 at midnight (CST).
