Our Why
Public school music programs have always been a place where every student, regardless of experience, race, gender, or financial status, can find a home. The choir room at Kennedy High School is buzzing with activity throughout the day and night, serving as that safe place and home base for everyone. Whether you're a little quirky, a high achiever, a drama queen, or the football captain, everyone is welcome on the Kennedy stage.
Like many arts programs, we face financial challenges in ensuring every student can participate fully. Our goal is simple: remove all financial barriers. Show choir fees, voice lessons, honor choirs, All-State; we want every student to know these opportunities are open to them, with cost never being an obstacle.
We want to achieve this goal by also establishing a fun, new community arts event that becomes a must-see on everyone's social calendar each year. With your help, we can bring the entire Iowa arts community together to celebrate our state's talent and ensure that our local programs thrive for years to come.
